“I’ve been a long-time follower and admirer of Kaley’s work: I love how it feels elevated and natural at the same time. My concern with mentorships is always whether or not the mentor can: 1) actually teach effectively; and 2) teach in such a way that I can incorporate new skills and techniques into my own work without simply copying and pasting the mentor’s methodology. Ultimately, I’m so glad I took the chance to learn from Kaley! The homework beforehand was an incredible exercise in truly analyzing images I’m drawn to as well as my own work and it put me in a position to really focus on the things I wanted to take away from the mentorship ahead of time. Kaley truly is an open book and I learned so much even before the live shoot portion. 

While I learned so much about the things I wanted to focus on, one of the biggest (and most surprising) takeaways for me was to trust myself. Kaley has an uncanny ability to trust her own instinct and watching her work in that way, and having the opportunity to do it myself, was truly so transformative. This time with her really gave me the confidence to lean into exactly what I want to do - not what I see others doing - and to trust that I can do that well. Combined with the tangible skills, methods, and techniques I learned from her, I am feeling more certain of where I am and what I want to do than I can remember feeling before.
